Maurice Realier-Dumas was a native Parisian whose artistic skill was nurtured at the Ecole Nationale de Beaux-Arts in the workshop of Gerome. He had natural talent and was quickly recognized among the most prominent artists of his time. His workwere hung at the prestigious Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris for nearly 40 years. Because Realier-Dumas focused more on his painting than posters, his posters are rare and tend to have a classical graphic, which separates his work from the more mainstream posters of the time. Today, his posters can be viewed in galleries and museums throughout the world. |
