Ethel Reed had a very short but impressive career as a poster artist. As one of the few women in poster making, Reed was recognized among the elite poster artist of her time. She worked mainly for the publisher Lamson Wolfe, creating book covers, illustrations and later lithographic advertisements. At one point in her career, she was the most sought after American poster artist in the field. After marrying in the late 1800's, Reed went abroad and was never heard from again, thus ending her prestigious and promising career in the poster world. |
