Born and trained in Brussels, Belgium, Toussaint helped to make a name for Belgian poster artists at the turn-of-the-century. He studied at the Academy Beaux-Arts of Brussels and continued his career in lithography by exhibiting in many of the notable salons in Paris. Toussaint was a part of the circle of artists known as the "Sillon" between 1901 and 1905, with whom he would work and compete with. His works are sought after today in galleries and museums throughout the world. |
