The Roman artist Mataloni began his artistic career in 1891 as an apprentice on the lithographic presses at the Officine Grafiche Ricordi di Milano (Graphic Records Office of Milan). His skill was quickly recognized and he earned commissions from several printing houses. During his career, he worked for numerous printers, but was most noted for his "Incandenza" (or lighting) posters. Mataloni also worked for contemporary magazines and publishing companies creating book covers and magazine illustrations. His work is admired and sought after today and can be found in galleries and museums throughout the world. |
