Jean Thodore Dupas was a French painter, artist, designer, poster artist, and decorator. His work can be found gracing the pages of fashion magazine greats like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. He is probably best known for the murals he created for the ocean liner Normandie. The Normandie is considered the last great expression of French Art Deco style. His work represents some of the best examples of Art Deco visual arts. Not well-known but interesting is that Andy Warhol was a big fan of Dupas' work and he collected it extensively. |
