Little is known about Lucien Lefevre. He was born in 1850 in Varennes, France. He studied portrait painting under Georges L. Bruders and exhibited in the Salon des Independents in Paris in 1872 and 1873. A pupil of Cheret at his printing atelier, Chaix, Lefevre acquired a reputation as a posterist in his own right, his work reflecting the influence of his teacher. |
