Niklaus Troxler
Silkscreen, printed by Graffik-Studio Niklaus Troxler, Luzern, Switzerland 1986. Condition: Near Mint (A) , backed on linen.
Sheet size: 50 H. X 36 W.
In this award winning design for a tribute concert to jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Monk, Troxler created "Round Midnight" typography which outlines the very recognizable goateed profile of Monk. "Round Midnight" is Monks most recorded composition. The random changing of the color of the text plays tribute to Monk's legacy of improvisation, new chords, syncopations and runs.
