FDB Mobler, or the Danish Consumer's Co-operative Society, began in the forties with the goal of creating functional furniture, high in quality and low in price; furniture for everyone. This poster features model J52, the Borge Mogensen chair, which is a truly functional chair that can be used for dining, relaxing, and as seen here, for sewing.
Borge Mogensen was the head of FDB's design studio between 1942 and 1950. He is an important mid-century furniture designer and credited with making the Danish design concept internationally known.
It is interesting to note that the Model J52 chair can be purchased today from FDB Mobler.
