Frank Soltesz (1912 - 1936)
Original color lithographic poster, United States 1948. Condition: Fine (B+) minor cracking in image, backed on linen.
Sheet size: 38.5 H. X 24 W.
This original 1950's TWA poster features the Lockheed Constellation with its trademark triple-tail design. The Constellation, or "Connie" became synonymous with TWA's style of elegance and a symbol of cutting-edge technology; it was the epitome of grace in propeller-driven aircraft. The aircraft featured a pressurized cabin for 44 passengers, flied faster and above most of the weather disturbances which frequent fliers would refer to as smooth sailing.

Designed by Frank Soltesz, this poster was printed many times, in multiple languages and many variants. This is the French version promoting flights between the United States, Europe, the Far East and Africa.
