In this lithograph, Cheret's main character is a voluptuous young woman beckoning all to visit the Moulin Rouge, which was a nightly dance theatre that featured every type of dancer, celebrity and choreographer. Her posture as well as the lively text gives the viewer the impression that the Moulin Rouge is the place to go for a good time.
