After reviewing that year's many exhibition posters, Maindron, the important publisher and critic, singled out this work as "la delicieuse affiche" and predicted it would have "grande valeur". Moreau-Nelaton's distinctive style makes this poster a standout as it announces the second exhibition of Women's Art.
This plate is a small-format, lithographic reduction of the original poster printed in 1895 from the subscription series "Maitres de l'Affiche" for the poster enthusiast of the time. These plates remain highly desirable and are increasingly hard to find.
